Members of the community joined in a willow-weaving workshop to celebrate Tu B’Shevat on Sunday 8th Feb.
A total of fifteen people came together at Beth Shalom recently to celebrate the majesty of trees through willow weaving. The workshop was timed to be held close to Tu B’Shevat, the annual festival celebrating trees.
Participants made a Magen David out of willow, coppiced from local trees. Feedback was very positive – everyone had a really enjoyable afternoon! Event organizer Rachel Brown said, ‘I was chuffed to see a great turnout for this showing a good appetite for the activity and was really impressed by people’s weaving skills and enthusiasm!’
