Services

Services are held at the Synagogue and are led by a member of the community. The services follow the Reform Judaism siddur and are mainly in Hebrew with some English. If Hebrew is not your strong point, don’t worry, the Siddur contains both translation and transliteration. There are lots of opportunities to join in communal prayer and singing during the service.

Uplifting Kabbalat Shabbat services are held on some Friday evenings and commence at 6 pm.

Shabbat morning service begins at 10:30 am every Saturday morning throughout the year. Children of all ages are welcome at every service and many attend regularly. From time to time a special ‘Cheder Service’ gives the Cheder children and their families the opportunity to participate even more actively in the service and singing, at what are always very lively and popular events.

If you wish to commemorate a Yahrzeit, celebrate a special occasion or participate in services please contact the warden.

Services run until about 12:30, inevitably followed by one of our popular ‘bring and share’ Kiddushim or sometimes a Kiddush sponsored by a member in honour of a special event.

Festivals and High Holy Days The High Holy days are ticketed entry only. Please use the contact form for more information.

Perhaps you are familiar with Jewish practice elsewhere, but new to Reform Judaism, or maybe your visit will be your first time in a synagogue. Don’t worry – you won’t be the first!

Let us know you are coming or ask when you arrive and we will ensure that there is a member of the congregation ready to greet you and act as your guide.
