Learning

Pre-Cheder

We run a friendly pre-cheder group for younger children and toddlers, offering them an engaging and supportive introduction to Jewish traditions and learning.

This programme helps to foster a sense of community and belonging from an early age, setting the foundation for their future education.

Cheder

The Cheder is open and free to members’ children. Find out about membership.

Our cheder runs weekly during term-time from School Year 1 through to Bar and Bat Mitzvah. We celebrate the festivals, learn Hebrew, about Torah, mitzvot, Jewish history and practice.

Our aim is to provide Jewish instruction that will foster a lifelong interest in leading a Jewish life and embracing a Jewish identity.  For more information please get in touch – we look forward to welcoming new students!

Adult Education

Hebrew and religious studies – Our Adult Education programme includes a Torah reading class and a weekly Parashat Hashavuah group. If you would like to join either or find out more please contact us.

Torah reading – Torah reading and cantillation lessons can be arranged on request.

Gateway to Judaism – Our Gateway to Judaism programme offers people the opportunity to learn about Judaism. It is open to anyone whether they are interested in eventual conversion, to learn more because of their own Jewish heritage or because they have a Jewish partner. Our only condition to participating in the programme is that the individual attends several weeks of services and then becomes a Friend of the Synagogue, or an Associate Member if their Jewish partner is already a member.
