Hybrid services

Shul service

Beth Shalom is providing regular hybrid services with both in-person and online participation, with the aim to include all, especially those who are not ready or able to return to in-person events.

Online participants regularly fulfil most ceremonial roles, including reading from the Torah, giving the Sermon, or leading the service from their home, so no-one is disadvantaged.

The one role that needs someone to be physically present in the synagogue building is ‘Hagbah’… lifting and processing the Torah scroll. This new, inclusive way of running services is something that we couldn’t have imagined at the start of the pandemic.

Please contact the warden to find out how to join or participate in our services either in person or online.
